Were you ever at Camp Lejeune, the United States Marine Corps (USMC) Base in Jacksonville, North Carolina? Was it between the years 1953 through 1987? During these years, as many as one million Marine Corps service members, their families, and their friends, were exposed to toxic chemicals contaminating the water at Camp Lejeune. Unfortunately, many of these individuals went on to suffer from cancers, miscarriages, and various diseases linked to exposure to the very dangerous chemicals found in the water at Camp Lejeune.

Here is an abbreviated excerpt from a YouTube video we have just released on this subject. The following was written by attorney David Buckley.
“My father was a highly decorated career marine. He served his country honorably. He joined the Marine Corps when he was 17 years old. He went in as a private and retired as a captain. He served in China before the fall, Korea at the Chosin Reservoir, and DaNang, Vietnam in 68. Always proud. Always faithful. Semper Fi.
But, it turns out the biggest threat to his family…were the lies and the arrogance and the indifference of [the] United States Marine Corps when it failed to step up and take responsibility for the grievous harm it caused to its own.
My parents were stationed at Camp Lejeune in the late fifties and early sixties. Newly married and looking forward to starting a family. Little did they know that in a few short years my mother, my father, my sisters, my brothers, and I would all be affected by the groundwater contamination at Camp Lejeune. My mother suffered miscarriages. My parents’ first born son didn’t survive infancy. My father died of cancer. My siblings have their issues and I have mine. Not one of us was left untouched. But the funny thing is, we never saw ourselves as victims. We never bought into that mentality. We were the sons and daughters of a Marine after all.
But then, in the mid 80’s, it was finally made public that the groundwater at Lejeune was contaminated and it all started to make sense…
After years of delaying and denying and releasing questionable scientific studies, a bill was signed into law by President Obama where a limited number of people having certain medical conditions specified on a short list who think they might have a claim could make a claim against the United States Marine Corps, but it was ultimately up to the Corps to decide if a claim had merit.
As of now, some 35-40 years after their negligence has been exposed, a little more than 100 people have been able to make a successful claim against the Marines for the poisoning of over a million men, women, and children.”
Thanks to the 2022 update, we have the opportunity to help you get compensation for your suffering, though we know all too well how late it is. Click here to watch the entire video to hear more about why David Buckley is the right choice for your Camp Lejeune claim.
From 1953 through 1987, the water used for drinking, cleaning, bathing, and cooking at the Camp Lejeune Marine Corps Base in Jacksonville, North Carolina, may have been contaminated with chemicals linked to underground storage tanks which were leaking thousands of gallons of fuel into the earth creating industrial-sized spills, as well as chemicals from at least one off-base dry cleaner.
It has been estimated that between 900,000 and one million people came into contact with this unsafe water. Some scientists believe this to have been some of the most contaminated water ever found in the United States.
The VA reports that, although the water is reportedly safe now, the water at Camp Lejeune once tested positive for the following chemicals:
A chemical used in plastic, resin, nylon, and synthetic fiber production
These are two names for a chemical used in degreasing and dry cleaning; this is abbreviated as PCE
Used to deeply clean and degrease metal such as in refrigerants; abbreviated as TCE Methylene Chloride: another solvent used to deeply clean metal, also used to remove paint
Abbreviated as VC, this chemical occurs when other hazardous chemicals begin to degrade inside groundwater; this is a cancer-causing gas used in certain plastics and PVC piping
Benzene, Vinyl Chloride, and Trichloroethylene are all considered to be cancer-causing, and tetrachloroethylene (perchloroethylene) is known to be carcinogenic. As one would suspect, exposure to these dangerous chemicals can cause an array of health issues, including but not limited to:
Exposure to these chemicals and the subsequent health issues you and your loved ones have endured should never have occurred. Worse, since the discovery of the chemicals in 1982, not nearly enough has been done to help the families and individuals who were injured by the water contamination in and around the Camp Lejeune base.
However, thanks to the Camp Lejeune Justice Act of 2022, there is finally legislation that addresses this grave injustice. If you or your loved ones stayed for 30 days or more at Camp Lejeune between the years 1953 through 1987 and suffered health issues you believe were the result of exposure to the contaminated toxic water, read on for more information.
